Many of my friends are not comfortable traveling alone when they want to hunt for photos. Maybe they think they’ll feel lonely, unsafe, and not confident enough to carry around a camera on their own.

There are however a number of advantages to going at it alone. Some of these are:

FREE TO CHOOSE YOUR OWN AREAS AND SPOTS TO PHOTOGRAPH
It’s often difficult to reach to an agreement about the destination for photographing when you are with others. Even when you have reached an agreement, there’s still going to be one that gets disappointed. You’ll also lose precious photographing time in the decision-making process.

FREE TO CHOOSE THE TIME
Not everyone can go on a certain weekend (or on days that’s been agreed upon before), not everyone can spend the night, not everyone can take a day off, and other reasons that’ll hinder the photo hunt from every happening. Going by yourself means you can go whenever you want, whenever you think it’s best for you to go.

FREE TO DO ANYTHING WHILE ON THE ROAD
For those of you that love adventure and love trying new things, you can do anything you want from jumping into the nearest river off a tall cliff, going off the beaten path or trying any local cuisines your friends might hesitate to try. No one can keep you away from having the adventure you want!

FREE FROM ANY COMPLAINTS
You won’t have to hear any whining from those that don’t like to get tired, or hot, or can’t sleep some place because it’s uncomfortable.

FREE TO MEET NEW PEOPLE
It’s great to meet and chat with local folks. And going alone forces yourself to socialize. This is where your outing will feel amazing. Give it a try!

FREE FROM ANNOYANCE
People have different habits that may be annoying to you, like snoring, being an avid nose-picker, always being on the phone, and constantly asking you to borrow your stuff.

YOU CAN FREELY DETERMINE YOUR PACE
Following a friend who’s always in a hurry or is annoyingly too slow can decrease your fun.

CAN COME AND GO AS YOU PLEASE
Oftentimes, the most interesting moments to photograph you’ll encounter when you’re flexible. Photographing alone is more efficient than going in a group because often when you’re part of a group, you’ll have to adjust to their schedule.

THE SATISFACTION YOU GET
The sense of satisfaction and the good photographs are what made it worth all that effort. And the most important thing is the satisfaction we get from our travels. And also, of course, getting those unique photographs that only you captured.
